    Hello,

Thanks for sharing your idea with us. The email messages are stored in RFC822 format and should be able to be opened by any email client or application capable of opening EML files. The default behavior for MDaemon is to open the files using Notepad.exe, however this can be customized by going to Setup / Preferences / UI. Click the Browse button and select the executable file you’d like to be used.

    Thanks,
    Arron

    Hello,

Thanks for sharing your idea with us. This can already be done in MDaemon by creating an IMAP filter for the account that moves the message to the desired folder when the alias address is in the X-MDRcpt-To header.

If you have additional questions about this or would like assistance setting it up, please contact our support team. All of our support options can be found at http://www.altn.com/support/

    Thanks,

  3. MDaemon Banner Attachment

Have the ability to append either an HTML or TXT based banner on the bottom of all e-mails. (While this is currently supported, the problem is the banners stack with each reply, making it look un-clean). So really looking for a way to add a single banner to the bottom of an e-mail, and remote any duplicate copies. We were using linux previously to strip the banners upon replies, but this is messy.

    Hello,

Thanks for sharing your suggestion with us. This can already be done using the content filter. Create a rule to search the message body for a unique string of characters that are included in your banner, if they are found don’t add another banner. If they are not found add the banner.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  4. Add admin logging function to WebAdmin

Add logging functions that will track changes made by an admin user when they are in WebAdmin. We have several banks and CU customers (and their auditors) who are asking for this type of feature.

  5. ActiveSync Policy expand

    Dear Sirs,
I would like to suggest to increase number of options in the ActiveSync Policy editor to enable us to do more with it?
Here is there Exchange list for reference: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123783.aspx

As per my view, one of the most important is the "Approved Application List", "Password recovery enabled", "Require storage card encryption", "Unapproved InROM application list", "Allow unsigned installation packages","Allow unsigned applications" and etc.
It will be very helpful for admins to achieve compliance with security standards (ISO, ITIL, etc).

  6. Only allow authenticated SMTP through MSA. Block AuthSMTP on port 25.

Only allow authenticated SMTP through MSA. Block all SMTP Authentication Attempts on port 25.

To prevent a lot of spoofed botnet authenticated SMTP hammering I would like an user option in MDaemon to completely disallow Authenticated SMTP sesssions through port 25 and only allow it through the MSA port. (admin configured on/off)

Normal incoming (mailserver->mailserver) traffic is allowed as normal through port 25 but none that includes an attempt to authenticate.

As an addition, an option in Dynamic Screening could be added to blacklist any attempts to send authenticated traffic through port 25.
This could avoid further hammering from botnet…

  7. Add possibility 'downgrade' license users.

For example if I have a license for 12 users also have the option to upgrade to 6 users. Right now it is only possible to update users only increasing users. Buy the full license I would say that it is a better solution ...

  9. Look into compressed RAR files for restricted attachments

MDamon protects very well from threats looking into zip files for restricted attachments. But what happens when virus come into a rar file? RAR compressed format now a days is as popular as ZIP.
    Please add RAR format compatibility

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us. There are two different ways the message recall functionality included in MDaemon can be used from Outlook.

    1) From your mail client’s Sent folder right-click (or whatever your mail client requires) and Forward As Attachment the email(s) that you want to recall, put RECALL as the message subject and send that to the MDaemon@ system account. 2) From your mail client’s Sent folder view the headers of the message you want to recall. Copy the Message-ID header value (the part to the RIGHT of the Message-ID: string) to the clipboard. Create a new message to the MDaemon@ system account and place RECALL plus the message ID value on the subject. It should look something like this: RECALL <5268DC1A.1020608@example.com>.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  11. Geoblocking of allowed SMTP/POP/IMAP.

I would like to see functionality to allow geoblocking of allowed SMTP/POP/IMAP.

Basically possibility to set which countries IPs that is allowed to connect with authenticated sessions for SMTP / POP / IMAP.

As my users is only living and working in Sweden they will only be
    coming from IPs from Sweden.

This could remove 98% of all the botnet sessions that tries to bruteforce autheticated sessions.

    Best regards

  12. Count not License/User for the JOURNAL-User for archiving

right now we need a user acount and a license for journaling/archiving issues. Also for the ADMIN-Account that is only used for MDaemon-internal purpose.

It would be very kind of you if you could exclude theese two accounts from license counting. Thanks

    Hello,

Thanks for sharing your idea with us to exclude certain accounts from licensing. The MDaemon system account is already excluded. If your MDaemon is not excluding the account named MDaemon please contact our support team for assistance. All of our support options can be found at www.altn.com/support.

Unfortunately, if we provided a means of not counting an archive/journaling account as a user account it would leave MDaemon open to abuse.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  13. Bulk email move by date

Users are lazy and want everything simple. We have a lot of users with 30, 40, 50,000+ emails in their Inbox. They complain that the system is slow (the server is very fast). I've explained to them how to manually move them to different folders, but its very time consuming and they say they don't have time to do it.
Could we get a feature that would allow emails to move their email from "folder x" to "folder y (create the folder if it doesn't exist)" from "start date" to "end date".

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hello Paul,

Thank you for sharing your suggestion with us. The AccountPrune utility in MDaemon already allows you to move messages older than X days to another folder. You can find documentation on using the command line utility in the MDaemon\App\AccountPrune.txt file. If you prefer its is also possible to move the messages from one folder to another using PowerShell, or any other scripting language.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  14. Allow more granular control of which files and from/to who are allowed to pass through anti-virus scanning.

I would be great if we had more granular control over which attachments along with a combo of which senders/receivers/attachments, senders/attachments or receivers/attachments were allowed pass through the SecurityPlus AV engine.
Maybe if there was some way to do a basic gateway scan on the email and if it has unscanable attachments then pass it to the CF filter where you could set up the granular rules to by-pass the AV scan depending on file extension, receiver, sender, etc...

    Hello Pat,

Thank you for sharing your suggestion with us. This can already be done by selecting the option for “do nothing (use content filter to handle” when viruses are detected. This allows you to create content filter rules that are used to handle messages that are infected. Creating rules gives you the ability to check for attachments/senders/receivers, etc. You’ll need to make sure that you uncheck the option to refuse messages that are infected and at a minimum create a content filter to handle infected emails.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  17. Excluding files into zip attachments

There has been an attack by a cryptographic virus whose vessel was a zip file included in another zip file. You can, by going into security -> content filter -> attachments, block an attachment by extension.

It would be great if one could block (also by extension) the files in a zip archive.

  18. Allow Domain Admins to manage Spamtrap queue or Release tagged spam

A Domain Admin can see spam listed under the Public-Spam Trap from within WorldClient. Here the email can be tagged as Spam, forwarded, etc. but it cannot be Released.

Releasing legitimate email from the Spamfilter queue can only be performed by the Global Admin yet the Domain Admin can see all the spam - regardless of the domain - under the Public-Spam Trap.

At a minimum, if the Domain Admins can see the Public-Spam Trap under WorldClient then they should be able to see the Spamtrap Queue under Remote Administration.

    -OR-

the ability to Release needs to be allowed from…

  19. Allow Domain Admins to Access the Web Services option

Presently only a Global Administrator can see the Web Services option for a User.

This means a Domain Admin cannot disable WorldClient, Instant Messenger or Remote Administration access on a user account.

This is an issue for a Domain Admin that may be creating a specific account that may be used for POP services only (i.e. a ticketing system) or not require Remote Administration.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us. Based on the testing I’ve done with MDaemon 14.5, when MultiPOP is used to download messages the delete command is issued immediately after the message is retrieved from the server. If this is not what you are seeing, please contact our support team for assistance. All of our support options can be found at www.altn.com/support/.

    Thanks,
    Arron
