Automatically generate and enclose Vcard and/or MeCard. Perfectly it would ad the QR-Quode.
Depending on a key-word in the mail, MDaemon should ad/genereate a vCard (for Outlookers) and/or a MeCard (perfectly encoded as QR-Code). Lot of people still print out emails. For those the QR-Code would be great.
1 voteHello Klaus,
MDaemon Webmail has been updated to include the ability to email VCards.

Hello Klaus,
Two new macros were added to MDaemon. $AR_START$ returns the auto-responder start date/time. $AR_END$ returns the auto-responder end date/time.

Blacklist to stop email addresses from being added to a mailing list auto responder
it would be great if we could blacklist email addresses from being added to a mailing list when a auto responder is enabled
1 voteHello,
MDaemon 13.5.0 was updated so that when an autoresponder attempts to subscribe an address to a mailing list the attempt will fail if the address is one of those configured to not receive the autoreponse.

Could you range by ALPHA order lists (whitelist etc...)
Hello,
With the time, i'd put many entries into whitelists...and other list, and i saw i have often entries in double or more.
If you have a way to range them by alfa order, after whitelist to or whistlist for "terms", it could be better
thanks
0 votesHello Cyril,
MDaemon 13.5.0 now includes an option to allow the spam filter whitelists and blacklists to be organized alphabetically.

New User account - password is secure signal
When entering the password for the user account, the password field should light green if the password is secure enough. Until now you only get an error after pressing OK.
5 votesHello,
MDaemon 13.6.1 includes a password is secure signal. The latest version can be downloaded from http://www.altn.com/Downloads/MDaemon-Mail-Server-Free-Trial/.

Scheduled Upgrades (Please!)
It's very annoying to have to wake late at night to perform a version upgrade.
We don't want our server go down and have our users complaining all together.
It would be great to have something similar to "windows automatic updates" service.44 votesHello,
MDaemon 16.5 has been updated to allow the administrator to schedule the time that MDaemon, Outlook Connector, and SecurityPlus are updated.

Extend the Auto Responder/Out of Office to allow for an "Every Day Between the Hours of X & Y" or similar
We have had several users who work Part Time and want to enable an auto response, every day to kick in when they finish early for the day. (i.e. finish at 3pm instead of 5pm). Currently the Auto Responder has to be reset every day, instead of being left to "Auto" :)
31 votesHello,
The ability to schedule autoresponders based on the day of the week has been added to MDaemon 14.5.0.

TLS settings
The provided TLS security settings should be extended to include:

2 votesHello,

X-reciept in WebAdmin spamtrap folder
It would be nice to see a new column with the address of the recipient of the mail in WebAdmin spamtrap folder. The ‘To:’ field is often empty or not with the recipient address.
I use this info to determine whether a mail in the spamtrap folder should be released or deleted.1 voteHello Allan,
WebAdmin was updated in MDaemon 13.5.0 to include the X-MDaemon-Deliver-To header in the spamtrap folder view which shows the address of the intended recipient.
Thanks,

Ability to batch import PST files into users mailboxes
Customers migrating from other Mail platforms often have a set of per user PST files they wish to migrate over to MDaemon. Currently the method of migrating this information involves each user setting up a new Outlook connector profile, Mounting the PST and moving the data over manually.
This works but is long winded for multiple users. It would be great if this migration could happen at the server. For example. you could have a migration tool that matches PST files (named to match MDaemon user accounts) and runs through the process of importing the data within the PST file…
116 votesHello,
We have have developed a script that extract content from PSTs but need help testing it. If you are interested please contact our support team. The contact information for the support team can be found at www.altn.com/support.

Add a MDBadQueueReason: column to the Bad Queue contents list.
There is already a MDBadQueueReason: header in bad messages which indicates why they are considered bad.
Adding this to the stats view would make it easier to spot a persistent problem with certain mail routes, etc.11 votesHello,
MDaemon 13.5.0 was updated to show the MDBadQueueReason header when viewing the messages from within the GUI.

Update default SMTP Authentication security settings
It seems the default setting for Security Settings > Sender Authentication > SMTP Authentication > 'Authentication is always required when mail is from local accounts'; is OFF.
This would benefit by being ON by default, with '...unless message is to a local account' ticked ON by default also.
When this is off, clients with generic mail addresses such as admin@ have problems with spam bots using their addresses.
1 voteHello James,
MDaemon 12.5 and newer have IP shielding configured by default to require messages from local domains to be from local IP addresses. If the message is not from a local user and not from a local IP address they are required to authenticate when sending. If you are installing MDaemon 12.5 or newer and are not seeing this behavior please contact technical support for assistance. You can find all of your support options by going to http://www.altn.com/Support/.

Hits on content filter rules
I have implemented many content filter rules. Some of them are dependent (eg. jump to another rule) and it becomes sometimes difficult inserting correctly a new rule among the others without affecting the existing ones. For sure some of them could be cancelled, due to many reasons (old habits no more in use, Mdaemon enhancements, and so on) but I don't know if all are still in use or if some have become stale.
It could be useful a counter showing the hits of a rule over a period in order to understand what could be eliminated.24 votesHello Matteo,
MDaemon 16.5 has been updated to show the number of hits for each content filter rule.

Improve Account Settings > Aliases
On the server interface improve the Aliases section in the Account Settings dialog to include searching, filtering by domain, and ability to update an alias without having to delete it first.
9 votesHello,
Thank you for submitting your idea to improve the alias management. The alias list can be opened in a text editor to allow you to search, filter, and edit any aliases that you’d like.

Encrypt passwords for the users so Admins are only able to reset, not export a plain txt list.
We do use the ability to export all the passwords occasionally (in Webadmin), but every time we do it, it just feels like a vulnerability waiting to be exploited. Seems so 2007. I would prefer to see passwords on lockdown.
9 votesHello Alan,
MDaemon 13.5.0 has been updated to not include passwords when exporting account information from WebAdmin.

Display tree view of public folders
The folder listing for the public folders is currently in one flat list, both in the Server UI and Web Admin, which makes managing hundreds of folders difficult. This should be displayed in a tree list, like it is in World Client, so that folders can be collapsed.
Also, increase the size of the folder listing box in the server UI when expanding the "Default Domain & Server" configuration form. At the moment, the form expands, but the folders list box stays very small. {The ACL settings panel, and the bottom of the folders list should track the bottom of…

We have worked to incorporate all of these suggestions into MDaemon 13.5.0, which was released today.

LDAP Object-Verification in Gateway objects
Currently it's only possible to verify against LDAP to check whether a user exists or not, it's not possible to check if it's a mail-enabled group, distributorlist or public folder. It would be great if it would be possible to define the object it will be tested against.
1 voteHello again,
For anybody else that may be looking at this changing the objectclass=* fixed the issue. If you are experiencing similar issues and setting the objectclass=* does not fix it for you please contact our technical support team for assistance.

ComAgent Contact (buddylist) Groups
ComAgent does not allow Contact (Buddy) grouping
For medium or big organizations, when you have 50 or more contacts on the Buddylist without a way of grouping them can be annoying.
Please develop ComAgent to allow creating folders (groups)15 votesHello,
Thank you for submitting your idea. MDaemon 17.5 now supports buddy groups in the instant messenger client.
Thanks again,

Improving the MDaemon automatic appointment functionalities
This would be very useful whenever you want to manage resources such as meeting rooms.
We have configured 4 particular MDaemon accounts, each of them is a meeting room.
Their accounts options are set to "automatically accept new meeting requests".
The rooms calendars are shared, so that each user can check the room availabilities before booking.
Our users Outlook configuration is: local pst files + pop3 session for emails, outlook connector only for shared contacts and calendars. This way, whenever a "human user" invites a room, the appointment is always accepted by the meeting room.
The bad thing about that…12 votesHello,
When accounts are configured to automatically accept appointments MDaemon 13.5.0 should now decline them if there is a conflict.
Thanks,
