  1. Store message in a database

    Hi,

With huge mail box on IMAP Mdaemon is a bit slow, store mail in a free (of course) db could be a very good features, easier to retrieve a mail (a simple sql command line to search throught thousand message for example). Easier to backup and move (have you try to move the directory users from a server to an other server with 500 gb of mail) , more securised.

    Hello,

Unfortunately we have been unable to successfully submit any changes to the WebSitePanel project. After repeated attempts and with assistance from the project we are still unable to resolve the issue. At this time we are focusing our efforts elsewhere.

If there is anyone that can help us resolve the issue please feel free to reach out to me.

    Thanks,

    Arron

  3. Linux Version of Mdeamon

I have currently been forced to move away from our beloved Mdaemon to icewarp due to two major considerations:

We needed a Linux (Centos) version to install for our Linux servers and a failover / redundant ability, if you could look into this we would move back in a heart beat. We been with Mdaemon since version 6 onwords.

  5. Challenge-Response Email

    Hi,

can you consider to add feature chalenge-response email, for the first time only if someone send an email from domain has been known or unknown, the server will check whether the domain has a valid reputation, ptr record, etc... if not the server will send a verification email to the sender to check if the sender is human or spam ? and send to postmaster for this information. and if the sender follow the link or other scheme on verification email, the server will automatically add the domain into whitelist in reverse lookup and the email has been hold…

  6. Disable content filter, for user who are in whitelist

    Hello

Could you make something for mdaemon that,

when a user is in the whitlist's antispam'' (sender/receipient) the content filter is disable for them.

Actually, we have had some words forbbiden to limit spam in content rules. Actually if sender is in whitelist and use forbidden word the mail goes to spam trap also.

We'd like for users in whitelist to and from, content rules are disable for them

    thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for the suggestion to exclude allow listed senders from the content filter.  Unfortunately we have decided to not implement this functionality.  if you need to exclude an address from processing, you can create a content filter rule to check for the address and stop all processing.

  7. Add on LDAP Server

LDAP server is useful for managing login account, shared address book and for integrate MD with other software.
Now you must use external LDAP server and you don't have automatic sync if you add\delete\modify user or group list.

  8. Are there any plans to expand the ActiveSync Policy editor to enable us to do more with it?

I was wondering do you have any plans to add additional functionality to the ActiveSync Policy editor?

  9. Exclude users own domain from hijack detection. Only count Authenticated messags to external domains,

I am having to whitelist users from hijack detection because they are sending many emails within their own domain. If hijack detection only counted messages to external domains, it would work more accurately.
Account hijackers use compromised accounts to send out junk to external email addresses, not local ones.

    Hello,

It is my understanding that RIM is moving away from their current BES implementation and that BB10 will support ActiveSync. Because of this we are unlikely to be adding the ability to push applications to devices in our BES implementation.

    Thanks for submitting your idea.

  12. Integrate BlackBerry Server 10

We decided to use the Blackberry Platform with Mdaemon because of higher security requirements. Since Active Sync cannot meet our security demands, but our clients want to use new Bs wit OS10, please provide the BES 10 integration.

  13. SMTP File check

Sometimes happen to receive an attachment with a virus that is not detected, could be useful for all files that arrive, get the hash, and if the file is infected, move it in quarantine and block all the new incoming file.

  15. support contact-information from adressbook via LDAP - not only user-information

In order to use the contact-information from an adressbook (e.g. Contacts) also in several other software products (email, CTI, TAPI, ...) WITHOUT using MS Outlook or the MDaemon Outlook Connector (yes, there are more and more people around NOT using this software!) it it necessary to have access to the contact-information via a standard protocoll - i.e. LDAP (maybe ODBC or CardDAV).
But still more software packages support LDAP (eg. email-programs, CTI-packages). There is even a way to submit MDamon user information to an LDAP server. So it could be easy to just create an LDIF file from the contact…

  17. Content Filter Message Handling

Based on previous input, from one of your engineers: Received Messages are copied multiple times for each address in any received email, resulting in one email becoming many emails before being handed off to the content filter. This allows SPAM that includes multiple addresses to be copied to a new message file for each address before all the messages are handed off to the content filter to be processed over and over again. This is one of the reasons the content filter eats up so much CPU and this should be seen as a big problem. I do not understand…

  18. Display mailing list names

I have been getting some complaints from our users and external customers that when they are included on an e-mail that is sent via a mailing list they would like to see the name/email address of everyone who the e-mail was sent to, not just the mailing list name (or only their email address).

It is causing confusion because they don't know who else was copied on that email and may have already received it, so multiple recipients are forwarding the original e-mail to other users who were on the mailing list to begin with.

    These are mailing lists that…

  19. Smart Host credentials linked to Alias entries (aimed at multiple alias managment under the same TLD for each user)

Each user can have ONE smart host credentials saved, this works well for one top level domain but is very restrictive.

    Assume this:

    • Domain "gmail.com" allows smart host credentials for each user.
    • User "John" has MultiPop for "john@gmail.com" and "my mycar@gmail.com", both accounts different logins to GMAIL to send mail.

MDaemon as it stands cant send mail by this single user having both the above MultiPOP as can only store one Smart Host credentials for one top level domain (in this case gmail.com) omain.

    • For the above to work the complete "FROM" email address needs to be…

  20. airsync log folder, not cleaning up old logs, and also fills drive

The AirSync Log Folder is not being cleaned up / deleted after x amount days, like the rest of the log folders. Due to someone recently suggesting that attachments should be in log files, this now doubles the disk usage and consumes all the space on a drive. This is a serious issue as it causes services to start failing, etc.. Please fix the log cleanup service to also clean up the AirSync folder as expected...

    Hello Tray,

Thanks for sharing your idea with us. Do you have XML logging enabled for ActiveSync?

XML logging is only intended to be used for debugging purposes. We highly recommend not leaving it enabled unless you are debugging as it generates thousands of files on disk and as you have experienced it will consume all the space on the drive. If you must have it enabled, I’d recommend using a script or some other tool to archive the logs.

    Thanks,
    Arron
