In order to use the contact-information from an adressbook (e.g. Contacts) also in several other software products (email, CTI, TAPI, ...) WITHOUT using MS Outlook or the MDaemon Outlook Connector (yes, there are more and more people around NOT using this software!) it it necessary to have access to the contact-information via a standard protocoll - i.e. LDAP (maybe ODBC or CardDAV).
But still more software packages support LDAP (eg. email-programs, CTI-packages). There is even a way to submit MDamon user information to an LDAP server. So it could be easy to just create an LDIF file from the contact informatino when creating/changing contact data and start an import into the LDAP-server configured.
This would increase the usability of MDaemon dramatically for so many other software packages around this area - esp. in a world without MS Outlook!
I'm searchig for this possibility for several years already. Other products (groupware servers) in this area already offer this!
