Add versioning support to document folders
Instead of renaming files with the same name, when you drop them in to a document folder, ask user if she/he wants to create a new version of the same file, or replace the existing file.
Now, if you drop "summary.docx" twice, you get
summary.docx
summary(1).docx

I was referring to a feature similar to the basic versiong in CMIS repositories. Versioning can be enabled/disabled per file. It is not available for folders, but only for files("documents"). When it is enabled, you store as many revisions of a file as you like. By default, the most recent (or "current" one) is shown. You can remove old versions.
