let´s encrypt support
Implementing of "Lets Encrypt" Certificates (www.letsencrypt.org) and automatic renewal of the certificate would be great.
Would be a great step for easy using of ssl mechanism from MDaemon with trusted (not self signed) certificates.
Hello Torsten,
Thanks for sharing your idea with us to include support for Let’s Encrypt. It has been included in MDaemon 17.0.0.
Thanks,
Arron

I'd actually recommend running the script every 60 days. If you run it every 90 days and there is an issue, you don't have any time to fix it before your certificate expires.
Yes you have to rerun the script to renew the certificate. I'd recommend scheduling a task in Windows Task Scheduler to automatically run the script for you.

What about to implement auto-renew of Let's Encrypt certificates? At the moment we need to re-run the script every 90 days right?
Thank you

I agree to add support for Let's Encrypt in Mdaemon, it's very very useful.
Cpanel, Plesk, Synology, etc have integrated into their systems the ability to generate certificate with Let's Encrypt from months and work like a charm.Thank you ALTN if you integrate it

I use Let's Encrypt with my websites, they check daily for a new cert and install into IIS if needed.
MDaemon has the ability to use self-signed certs, and that’s brilliant. It’s done me well for many years.
However I wondered if they could use the API and integrate into Lets Encrypt, doing the periodic download and installs? Currently I’m using my Let’s Encrypt cert, moving a copy to the right cert store, and then setting MDaemon to use it. It works, but something I need to do every 3 months (and can give a short period of invalid cert). Would be much better if MDaemon supported it.
I also suspect it’d go down well with smaller customers who’ve until now been using self-signed certs. This will get rid of the certificate errors, and is still free.

There are a number of products available for Windows that allow you to obtain certificates from LetsEncrypt. You'll need to follow the instructions provided for the product to obtain the certificate making sure to follow the guidelines provided in the following article so that MDaemon is able to use the certificate.

Hello Arron,
could you please create a KB-Articel how to do this?

Although there is not yet integration into MDaemon, there are multiple Windows clients available that allow you to use certificates from LetsEncrypt with MDaemon.

Let's Encrypt has been out of beta since April. Has there been any additional consideration? Support for it is showing up in everything from the Plesk hosting control panel to Synology NAS devices. I'd like to see my favorite mail server get ahead of the curve on this.
