Add support for 3rd party IM clients by including an XMPP server
Truly merge IM messaging into the mailserver with XMPP, especially sinds xmpp also uses e-mail adressing in their system. This way internet messaging is possible to other jabber / xmpp servers, withoud the hassel of keeping up extra im software and creating all user accounts twice...once for e-mail and once for IM
Hello,
MDaemon 16.5 includes a new XMPP server for instant messaging.
Thanks,
Arron

It would be good to add certain control like limit on the size of file being transfer, limit file transfer to own domain only, enable/disable file transfer/IM per account, limit IM to same domain user only on a per account basis, etc.

Yes. An app not only for iphone but also for android & windows phone should be made available.

Any option to integrate with XMPP, either through Comagent or another IM server, would be extremely appreciated by my customers.

An alternative may be to introduce flexibility in CA, to enable the use of a 3rd-party XMPP server (ie. eJabberD) for IM exchange & make use of some form of directory service (LDAP or AD) for unified user admin.
The use of an external messaging service could then open the possibility to a unified comms system, as some VoIP systems (Asterisk, FreePBX, etc) already feature some form of integration for the XMPP protocol
