Distribution lists to phones
Distribution lists do not sync to android phone, we are usign HTC shift, with @ mail. The company wide lists work.. the ones I created on the server. but if a user makes a distribution list in world client it does not work on his phone. ALSO.... if a person makes a distro list on world client, they cannot type it as a to address in world client, they must use the address book button and select it there. thank

Mailing lists that are created in MDaemon work because they are just a contact in the contact list with a single email address. When sending from a phone, if you select a contact that is a mailing list to send to, the phone puts the email address of that contact in the To field and sends a single message with a single recipient to the server. It is up to the mail server to create a copy for each member of the mailing list.
The distribution lists created in WorldClient are different because they are collection of addresses referred to using a common name. When a distribution list is added to the To field of an email in WorldClient, every address that is a member of that distribution list is added to the To field. When WorldClient sends the message it sends a single message to multiple recipients.
In order for Distribution lists created in WorldClient to work from a phone, the phone would need to understand that when somebody tries to send to a distribution list, it needs to put the email address of each member of the list in the To field. As far as I can tell, phones do not currently understand how to do this.

why do the group lists work? I make a list on the server and it works everywhere. Something like that, but for individuals would be fine. I maintain the all company list and department lists, but there is no way I can maintain every persons personal email list.
