I have a couple of ideas that may not be exactly what you are looking for but it may work for you.

You can configure pruning to be skipped for a folder by editing the hiwater.mrk file in the folder and setting the following key:

[Settings]
SkupAutoPrune=Yes

In order for this to work you would need to have the users create the folders and then set the value in the hiwater.mrk file for each user.

Another option might be to turn pruning off entirely in the MDaemon GUI and add a command line in the midnight.bat file to prune the inbox and all subfolders for all users and then add command lines to prune other top level folders such as Deleted Items and Sent Items. Then you could tell users any top level folders they manually created that you do not have specific pruning command lines setup for would not be pruned. You can find all the available parameters for running account prune in c:\MDaemon\App\accountprune.txt

If neither of these options work for you, please let me know why so that I can get a better idea of exactly how you would like this feature to work.
