Dynamic mail forward to external host, Similar to Multipop
Dynamic Mail forward to external host, similar to what is done in Multipop, ie based on the users POP access, can save bandwidth for those who forward mail to external host to read mail when outside the office.
Hello Mohandas,
Thanks for sharing additional details with us.
Your idea will be considered for future versions of MDaemon.
Thanks,
Arron

Hi
Smart forwarding could apply to all the email addresses to which that user is forwarding isn't it ? or you could say that if the user wants to do smart forwarding then he can forward to only one email address.Well, the very idea of smart forwarding is for a user who would be switching between the local LAN and an outside mail box when he is outside the LAN.
So here again you could say that Smart forwarding would not apply if Keep a local copy" was enabled. Here again the idea of Smart Forwarding applies to only an user who can not reach the MDaemon mailbox when he is outside the office. In the other case he need not enable Smart forwarding.
Hope I have been able to answer your questions. I would be glad to be of further assistance in any way I can. Thanks.

Hi
I am sorry to have delayed my reply for so long.!!
The idea is to make forwarding to an external host, smart.
MDaemon detects whether the user is in the local LAN or not by his POP sessions and Starts / Stops forwarding his mail to external host appropriately.
So lets say, the user does a POP session now, then MDaemon does not forward his mail to external host for say a programmable time out period and within this time if he has not done any POP sessions then MDaemon assumes he is out of the LAN and starts forwarding once again.
Would love to see this implemented at the earliest. Thanks.
