  1. Improved Control of DMARC Reporting

I would like some additional control and ways to monitor the DMARC reports which are sent out. I would like to be able to selectively stop reporting to certain recipients, and would also like to see what reports are going out in a summary form.

The problem that this addresses is that I have a domain to which I am sending a report which has stopped accepting the report, so I am generating failed emails that need to be cleared up manually. I Don't see any way to stop this at the moment!

  2. Block Javascript attachments by default

I blocked this attachment after one of my clients got hit with the cryptolocker virus abut 2 year ago and since then it has blocked several more emails with this attachment.

I would recommend making this default as I cannot really see any valid reason for the vast majority of users to have the ability to receive emails with js attachments.

  3. Mail restriction based on IP address per account

It would be nice if we could restrict an individual email account to their specific ip address they are coming in on. That would eliminate their account from being hijacked when their password is compromised.

  4. Process mailist as user list

I would like to see a server that in processing of the mailing list account will be united to email destination list, so an account in mailing list doesn't receive duplicated messages if is included in mail destination as account and as mail distribution list.
In example a customer send a mail to: sales@ (mailing list) and me in CC (it's account) I receive 2 times the mail.

  5. subscribe to ICS calendars on worldclient and public Calendars

I would like to be able to create a public calendar which is subscribed to an ICS source, this will allow all outlook connector & worldclient users to see this cal without the need to individually subscribe to the source on all clients, ie outlook, iphone calendar etc...

Also, if the above is not possible then the ability for worldclient to be able to add ICS subscribed calendars is a must !

  6. Pay license monthly.

For small businesses it might be a idea to pay the license costs monthly maybe as some kind of a subscrition fee . . Currently im running 16.5 bit really want to go to 17.5, but just dont have the funds for it. It is a pricely product without the addons and it would be friendlier if it was possible to pay a "subscription fee" . The product would than also be more available for starting companies.

  7. Content filter rule grouping

I don't know if this would be me relying to much on CF, the issue I'm running into is simple I need to create multiple rules to address certain issues. Some are complex enough to require up to 5 rules, it would be good to have a way to see the rules in a tree-view were admins can make groups to categories the rules. Instead of a list view.

I foresee needing this type of function more and more as email scams, impersonations, etc. keep growing on to an exponential rate.

    Thanks for you time.

  8. Automatic accept appointment changes

is it possible to implement a function where a user automatically accepts the changes of an allready accpeted meeting while not automatically accept all new meetings.
In our case a person is invited and has allready accepted a meeting request. When something changes in the meeting he/she has to accept/decline the changes before seeing them in their calender.

Another solution could be a white list function where only meeting 'requests' and 'changes' from specified users are automatically accepted by the participants.

    Thanks

    Christian

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us to automatically accept meeting invite changes if the original invite has already been accepted. This will be considered for future versions.

The current version of MDaemon allows you to automatically accept invites from specified addresses. You can configure this by going to Accounts / Edit Account / Select the Account / Settings.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  9. Spoofed email

Sometimes happen to receive spoofed email, it could be very useful implement in wordclient alongside the sender a label (like gmail) where there is wrote by the remote server of the sender...I hope I was clear :)

  10. MDaemon should be able to log account creation, deletion and password change when performed via the product GUI

I think that MDaemon should be able to log all the changes made to its accounts, not only those made via remote admin.

  11. Widen the usage of groups

I see MDaemon has a basic concept (of groups and templates). Now it would be really nice if you could actually use these groups outside of the administration interface (e.g. for people to use).

Like saying: I want to send a mail to all people of that department (no need to define a mailing list, which would be redundant, if groups are used properly). Or: I want to invite that group of people to a meeting (calendar).

Alternatives are welcome, like creating mailing lists which take their users from LDAP. I see this might be possible, however it is not…

    Hello,

Thanks again for sharing your ideas with us. In the current version of MDaemon you can configure a list to have a Group as a member. Does that accomplish what you are trying to do?

To add a Group as a member of a list you can click the Add button on the members tab and then click the bottom to the right of the Email field. Then select the desired groups and click OK. You can also just type GROUP:$GROUPNAME$ in the Email field, where $GROUPNAME$ is the name of the group.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  12. folder blacklist automation

Wouldn't it be great to have a folder like the bayesian public folder for each user (either personally or global) which acts like this:
    1. move an e-mail to the folder
    2. block the sender's domain instead of the user's e-mail address only

For this we should also have a list of blocked domains or user addresses to manage.

  13. Alias statistics i MDaemon.

Statistics and "Last Usage" on main account name is already included but it is very difficult to track how frequent a user Alias is actually used and/or receiving any mails.

People tend to want alias created but very seldom used and it would be good for me as a sysadmin to track the usage and possible remove unused aliases.

Or even better, find alias that receives large amount of spam.

Today all alias traffic is merged into the main account statistics and it is difficult to see if certain addresses catches more spam than others.

    • In the "Inbound Email" add…

  14. Add an exception by email to customize the size of the incoming email

The global option for the incoming email "reject message greater then many KB" should have an option to add some exceptions.
For example the users that belong to the special group "Admin" shouldn't have limit for the size of incoming email.

  15. Auto Respons function, Separate response messages depending on whether it is a local or external account

In Exchange, you can choose two different auto reply messages depending on whether the sender is a local account on the mail server (colleagues) or if the sender is external.

Very useful when you are on vacation you might want to inform your colleagues about how to manage internal affairs during the absence, you can inform about the times they can call even though you have holiday etc.

External response will not contain that information.

You may also be able to develop this great feature even better than Exchange, so you can choose which domains alternatively specific people who will…

  16. Export an MDaemon Group to a Contacts Folder

It would really be beneficial to us in a school environment to be able to create a contacts list based on Group Membership.

Below is an email thread with our UK support.

Is it possible to create another public address book called "Students" that will automatically be populated with the members of the "Students" Group and then I could make this readable ONLY by the Teachers group, as I don't want the students accessing the email addresses of all the other students.

I can see the benefit of being able to export an MDaemon Group to a Contacts Folder (especially…

  18. Contain Out of Office messages to internal addresses only

An option to contain Out of Office messages to internal email addresses that can be controlled at the server level would be beneficial for us. We would like to be able to select certain email accounts to not send OOO messages to outside email accounts but still be allowed to email externally. Having this option available by the client would be beneficial as well.

    Hello Jim,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us. It will be considered for future versions.

In the mean time, depending on your configurations there may be a way to do it using the AutoResponder Whitelist. For example, you could exclude messages with a X-MDSPF-Result header. If your mail server is only inserting this header into messages from non local users it would exclude those addresses from receiving the auto response message.

Another option would be to use the content filter rule to send messages back to people instead of using the autoresponders. The content filter can check the from address and only send the message if its a local user.

    Thanks,
    Arron
