  2. Better threaded messages in LookOut

Threaded messages is a feature, but it would be better if new child messages were not hidden in a collapsed parent. People miss incoming child messages if the thread is collapsed. Additionally, the ability to read all the conversation in a single scroll-able thread, which hides repeated (quoted/forwarded) content, would be a nice addition.

Conversation support is the standard of efficient e-mail management these days. The Option of just turning on/off basic support for it is not going to cut it. There needs to be more options and customization. And it needs to be intelligent so it's helpful.

  3. Message search functionality

-A more comprehensive search functionality is required, suggest looking at how the old Eudora mail client approached it ( which I still use from home!), with a very simple and powerful means to do a single up to multiple criteria search, based on user selected fields. You could limit it to 3-5 deep and it should not cause the system to hang as is the case at times now and should be much faster and more responsive.

  4. Support to filter out "Tracking Pixel" in webmail and/or possible regular mail.

The use of "tracking pixel" is a bad for end user security and i suggest to add functionality to webmail but possible also regular mail to filter out tracking pixels.

    https://en.ryte.com/wiki/Tracking_Pixel

Especially in EU where GDPR is in effect that users must be informed that a website collects data. Users also have to be able to object to the tracking.

    Hello Dan,

Thanks for sharing your idea. Webmail currently has an option to block HTML images which stops all images from being downloaded, thereby preventing any tracking that would have occurred. When this is enabled, users can choose to download images by clicking a bar in webmail.

To enable the option open MDaemon and go to Setup / Web & IM Services / Settings, check the box for Block HTML images.

Webmail also ignores the SRC attribute on Image tags, and ignores script and link tags in html emails, this functionality all helps to make tracking more difficult, but it is not 100%.

Webmail also ignore script and link tags in HTML emails

Are you wanting webmail to also be able to identify image tags that are for tracking and filter them out?

If you are, I’m not aware of a good way to do this. We can scan the…

  5. Sorting of E-Mail Templates

Currently there is no possibility to change the order of Email templates. When a user has a lot of them it would be easier if one can change the order of the templates to have the ones that are heavily used on top of the list.

  6. service handler

Allow MDaemon webmail to use service handler/mailto functions ... so to use a browser as the default email client/service.

Like someone can do with gmail in chrome, firefox ...

  7. How many items selected

    Hello,

If I select some of the emails in my Inbox I want to know how many of them I have selected. Maybe it should be shown at the bottom of the screen with a message like: "You have selected 5 items".

    Thank you!

  8. Drag and drop messages out of WC

We are currently looking to drop MS Office entirely but we currently use Redemption to enable the dragging of messages into our Ops DB client.

This functionality would be pivotal in allowing us to proceed especially as we can now drag and drop into WC message composition window.

    Hello Richard,

Thank you again for sharing your ideas with us. The ability to drag and drop messages out of WorldClient will be considered for future versions. In case it helps, in MDaemon 14.5, we have added the ability to save an email outside of WorldClient by right clicking on the messages and choosing Save source.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  10. Filters for outgoing e-mail / filteroptions in server for all imapi users of that account

    hello Arron,
I'm changing from Pop to IMAPI so I also have al my e-mail at home when i'm working remote and not on my destop at the compagny.

I now have Thunderbird with a 60+ filters to sort the e-mail form college's suppliers customers private and so on in separate folders.

I sort incomming and outgoing email. But I cannot make filters for outgoing email...
( I think. I searched everywhere and the help text only speaks of incomming email. )

Is there an option to also filter the out going e-mail.
Filter e-mail after sending to be correct.

  11. AI for lookout and worldclient themes

The help of AI is interesting and represents the future of writing tools.
Implementation on other themes would be good.

  12. Message sort functionality

Message sorting is very weak in the regular (lookout) theme.

-While being positioned on a message if you click on a column, say sender, to sort on that basis, you should be kept on the message you were on so you can look for related messages, just like in outlook. Now it kicks you up to the beginning of the outcome of the sorted list! If you have a long list on multiple pages it is a real pain to relocate the message you were on.

  13. Lookout, would like the same behaviour in the folder's tree, as outlook, mask some "items"

    Hello

It could be better into lookout to have the exact same folder's tree as Outlook.

In worldclient, items appears two times, so user's (and myself) are sometimes confused, because i see them twice, (one into the folder's tree, and a second in the specific categorie on the left bottom.

In outlook 2003/2007, we don't have two times items: calendar, notes etc... which are present, and manage in the specific category

It could be great to have only in the folder's tree
    Mailbox
    draft
    deleted items
    shared folders
    publics folders.

And in specifics categories, the same wich are alrealy present…

  14. Remove the spam score when marked as not spam.

The spam score added to the subject line, if a user marks the message as 'Not Spam' reprocess the message to remove the spam score from the subject line. This would leave a much cleaner looking inbox.

  15. all setups of oc and comagent clients should be possible in wcpro

wcpro should offer not only an exe download for oc and comagent but also the msi file.
in the standard mdaemon manager there is no downloadlink for that files anymore and files.altn.com is not really up2date...
or an alternative would be a download link in the mdaemon manager directly in the setup windows of that services or maybe help menue...

  16. Worldclient IM puts user online when user's desktop is locked and someone moves the mouse or touches the keyboard...

    ... like the cleaning lady.

What I would like to say: that should not happen. When the desktop is locked, the user is not there, and should not be online (unless he's using a remote session of course like when connected through RDP to the machine where WCIM runs on).

  17. Allow access to Webmail without password when a certain HTTP header is set

When a trusted source like a reverse proxy sets a certain HTTP header, then Webmail should log that user in without asking a password. Much like "x-webobjects-remote-user" HTTP request header in SOGo.

This would allow an already authentified user (on a reverse proxy for example) to get immediate access by simply having the proxy forward the connected user's name.

The trusted gateways would need to be specified by at least their IP address to prevent abuse.

  18. Modernise Webmail Gui

In order to be able to sell Mdaemon to prospective new clients I do need to wow them a bit with the GUI as this is the first thing that most end clients see and care about. They don't care about spam filtering, back end administration etc which are the things that I care about for Mdaemon.

I don't think that you need to make huge changes to your CSS coding. In fact, most of the changes I am suggesting would probably be quite minor.

    1. Replace the flag, category, select icons etc with more modern looking icons. A lot of…

  19. Highlight IMAP folder when new mail is detected in Worldclient

Adjust the folder color when new mail is detected in a subscribed folder.

If the folder has no unread email, it will be normal text.
If the folder has one unread email, it will be bold.
If the folder receives a new email, it will be bold and highlighted.
When the user views the folder, the highlight will disappear, however it can stay bold if there is unread items in the folder.

Thunderbird currently has this feature, described here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/How_do_I_check_for_new_messages_in_other_folders

  20. WorldClient folders in tabs

In WorldClient, add a "Open in a new tab" menu item in the context menu of a folder (similar feature is present in Thunderbird 17).
