Different session time out settings for World Client depending on IP Address
Different session time out settings for World Client depending on if it is being accessed from the LAN or from a remote session.
When connecting remotely security is critical, as users could be connecting from any device, in any environment.
On the LAN security is not as critical, and there is a known environment, and users more likely to lock their computers when they leave them.
Allowing different session time out settings for LAN, VPN and 'other' would help remove the inconvenience of repeatedly entering passwords to use world client on the LAN, but still allow a short time out…

Mdaemon, push, intranet, rss etc...
Hello
It would be great to have a new module into Mdaemon, which can be use by administrator or other personne with good rights to publish some information, on the first open page of mdaemon lookout (but also in a first open page into outlook).
Actually we try to use an intranet with "phpbb" but users don't use it because it is not into outlook , which is the main open program...
the module, could be a little html wysiwyg,, (like phpbb) and administrators could be suscribed users. (users don't suscribeb themselves, they didn't do..).
Because we are wan users,…

Embed LibreOffice Online to edit uploaded documents in Documentes folders without downloading them locally
With MDaemon 13.0 new feature for sharing generic files using WorldClient (Document folders) comes the need to possibly edit those very documents when you have no local storage to download them. Therefore it would be nice, when it will be available, to embed a free, but rich and powerful office document editing suite like LibreOffice, which is announced to be available with a HTML5 frontend at some date in 2013.
10 votesHello Emanuele,
Thank you for sharing another fantastic idea with us. We will look into providing the ability to edit documents that have been uploaded into a documents folder.

Cache IMs when offline
IMs are not delivered when the user is offline. That is really retro. They should be cached for a certain amount of time and delivered to the user when they are back online.

Make it easier to integrate with a company intranet.
We have successfully integrated worldclient with our company intranet, but the implementation is messy as it posts the users username and password to the worldclient login page and it's visible for their whole session in the address bar. We've developed a workaround with a temp password, but we shouldn't have had to. This should be a lot easier. Also why not let us frame worldclient? That would make it great for intranet use as we could add "email" to a tab in our intranet. Now wc tries to break out of frames always.
7 votesThank you for your idea submission. We are currently reviewing these with our development team to determine options. We do have concerns with integrating into frames, as it is a know security issue in various browsers.

Check for and keep custom favicons on update
We are using the the MDaemon Webmail software via different instances and are helping our users to keep track of the right browser-tabs by defining different favicon.ico files, so that the respective tabs are clearly identifiable. After every update we have to manually make sure, that all customized ico-files are setup again. Would it be possible to check if the favicons have been exchanged after the last update and leave them untouched if so?
That would help us a lot in making the update procedure less elaborate!
7 votesHello,
Thank you for sharing your idea to provide a means of not over-writing the custom images you put in place. It will be considered for future versions.
There are a couple of options that may help you to achieve this in the current version.
- You can try putting your image files in place and then mark them as read-only. A read-only file cannot be overwritten so the installer should fail to over-write it.
- You can create a custom theme by copying an existing theme to a new folder and make your changes in the custom theme.
- You can write a script to copy the files over for you so that each time you install a new version all you have to do is run the script to update all the image files.
If you’d like further assistance with any of these ideas, please contact our support…

Vertical bar Worlclient remembers last position when moving mails
When moving mails from inbox to another folder, inbox refresh and vertical bar is positioning at the beginning... and you have to slice again the vertical bar to find the messages you want to move...

Message search functionality
-A more comprehensive search functionality is required, suggest looking at how the old Eudora mail client approached it ( which I still use from home!), with a very simple and powerful means to do a single up to multiple criteria search, based on user selected fields. You could limit it to 3-5 deep and it should not cause the system to hang as is the case at times now and should be much faster and more responsive.

Better threaded messages in LookOut
Threaded messages is a feature, but it would be better if new child messages were not hidden in a collapsed parent. People miss incoming child messages if the thread is collapsed. Additionally, the ability to read all the conversation in a single scroll-able thread, which hides repeated (quoted/forwarded) content, would be a nice addition.
Conversation support is the standard of efficient e-mail management these days. The Option of just turning on/off basic support for it is not going to cut it. There needs to be more options and customization. And it needs to be intelligent so it's helpful.

calendar appointment participants
Hello
Inviting participants in calendar is not that easy. Would it be possible to invite participants directly from the appointment tab by entering the email address for instance (the email address could be suggested while entering the name)
Thank you4 votesHello Yorick,
MDaemon 14.5.0 was updated to use auto-complete when adding attendees to a meeting invite. You still need to add attendees via the Attendees tab though so I am not marking the idea as complete.
Thanks,
