  1. Dynamic mail forward to external host, Similar to Multipop

Dynamic Mail forward to external host, similar to what is done in Multipop, ie based on the users POP access, can save bandwidth for those who forward mail to external host to read mail when outside the office.

  3. Site for placing "trusted site seal" from certification authority at WorldClient home page.

Recently we purchased a certificate for our email services.
We would be very pleased of being able to place our "trusted site seal" at WorldClient home page as part of WorldClient branding.

  4. Ability to rearrange folders in worldclient

I would like to be able to rearrange folders in mdaemon. I mainly us a shared folder as my inbox and it would be great to be able to move it to the root of my email account rather than browsing to it every time I log in.

  5. ComAgent: Save recipient list for group chats

It would be nice to be able to save a recipient list for group chats so that instead of having to select each recipient every time you start a group chat you could select a pre-saved group to send the message to.

  7. Add versioning support to document folders

Instead of renaming files with the same name, when you drop them in to a document folder, ask user if she/he wants to create a new version of the same file, or replace the existing file.

Now, if you drop "summary.docx" twice, you get

    summary.docx
    summary(1).docx

  8. Long Running (stay connected) and Live Log Display (refresh interval)

I really like the MDaemon client's log that can be continually live for administrator viewing.
I would like to see something similar in the SG. I would like to see options for the web client:
    1) Length of time to stay connected before auto logging out

Options right on the detail Logs and Messages Logs (All, Quarantine, etc) screens:
    2) Automatic Log Refresh (enable/disable checkbox) and refresh interval

Behavior for the Messages Logs (All, Quarantine, etc.)
    3) Disable Automatic Logging when any of the Message links are clicked. Uncheck the Automatic Logging checkbox immediately when disabling the Automatic Logging.

  9. Option to Drop Connection Immediately upon DNSBL or Blacklist IP Lookup Found

The IP Blacklist and DNSBL actions should have the option to drop the SMTP connection immediately after learning that the source IP is black listed. The reason to drop the connection immediately is to reduce the additional processing that is essentially wasted if the policy is to reject the email.

The Blacklist IPs and DNSBL should be examined ASAP after connection to minimize the time to decide to drop a listed connection. Dropping the listed connection ASAP reduces the chance of an SPAM or SMTP attack from overloading the SG.

    Hello Arnold,

I have verified with our developers that the tests are occurring after the RCPT command so that any domain exceptions that exist can be applied. We will consider having the tests occur earlier in the session when no domain exceptions exist for future versions of SecurityGateway.

    Thanks,

    Arron

  11. Folder tree should show unread messages in sub folders.

The folder tree in the left pane should have the total emails listed in brackets. Currently the folder tree lists only the emails in that particular folder, however it should list the mails of the sub folders also, so that it becomes convenient to get a bigger picture in the collapsed tree view.

  13. Send on Behalf Of with Permission Management

    Hello,
It would be nice to be able to manage the permissions for sending on behalf of.
Each user should be able to decide who can send on its behalf and who is not. With a management similar to that relating to permissions shared folders.
Now every user can send on behalf of everyone and in my opinion is not correct

    Hello Alessandro,

Thanks you for sharing your idea. It will be considered for future versions of MDaemon. Currently, you can require users to send email using their email address by enabling the SMTP Authentication options for “Authentication is always required when mail is from local accounts” and “Authentication credentials must match those of the email sender”, however, with these options enabled there is not a way to allow one user to send on behalf of another user.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  14. ComAgent - Ability to send directly a screen snapshot

We use ComAgent internaly between several services, somes of them have asked for a new feature in comAgent : it would be nice to be able to take and send directly a snapshot of the screen to a contact via IM.
(like using the Capture tools of Windows 7).

  15. Option to HOLD undeliverable email to invalid email addresses for configured domains

The SG currently rejects all email not associated with a user account or alias. It would be great to have an option that either passes this email to the inside servers or HOLD the undeliverable email to enable the Admin to determine its disposition or change its Recipient email address.

The Default for this option should be the current behavior of rejecting email to invalid recipients and replying to the sender with an Non-delivery 550 email.

This feature is important to us because not all of our customers have 100% typing accuracy when it comes to email addresses. This also…

  16. Option to HOLD email sent with "Delivery Failure" result

Currently the SG does not retain email that it fails to deliver. I propose that there be an option to retain undeliverable email pending review and dispostion by an administrator.
This would be most valuable for initial configurations where the person setting up the system is trying to develop the best setup between the SG and inside email server(s). The Default for this option can be the current behavior to simply clear messages with permanent delivery failure.

    Hello Arnold,

Thank you for submitting your idea to add an option to hold inbound email that cannot be delivered to the domain mail server. Enabling the option to not delete message content after a permanent delivery failure should work for you. We will consider adding additional options for the handling of inbound email for future versions of SecurityGateway.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  17. Make it easier to integrate with a company intranet.

We have successfully integrated worldclient with our company intranet, but the implementation is messy as it posts the users username and password to the worldclient login page and it's visible for their whole session in the address bar. We've developed a workaround with a temp password, but we shouldn't have had to. This should be a lot easier. Also why not let us frame worldclient? That would make it great for intranet use as we could add "email" to a tab in our intranet. Now wc tries to break out of frames always.

  18. Add SMTP forward address verification for Gateways

Currently, it is only possible to check recipients in Gateway domains against LDAP,Minger or File based recipient lists. It would be great if MDaemon supported SMTP based Call-Forward (lookahead) recipient address verification.

  19. Per user read/unread status

I have been testing MDaemon & other email server software in order to put them into production in our office.

MDaemon has two ways of sharing emails : Public folders & shared folders with their own ACLs. In public folders the flags can be either per user or shared flags with other users. If the flags are shared with other users, then the Read, Unread, Replied, Forwarded, etc. all status are shared with other users, this way one can know which emails have been replied or forwarded. However if the Public Folders are configured with Per User IMAP flag settings,…

  20. Add support for virtual folders, available via WorldClient, IMAP, OC, API

At present, clients accessing the object base managed by MDaemon, can only see and are offered real and actual folders existing on the file system of the server. Add the ability to define virtual folders. There could be two kind of virtual folders: (A) those provided by MDaemon itself (say, the union of two or more real folders of the same type: messages, calendars, contacts etc.), and (B) those provided by plug-in libraries developed by ISV.

Since MDaemon 13.0, with the introduction of generic file folders, a useful virtual folder would be a union of folders of different default tipe,…
