  1. Folder for deferred email

We are finding the deferred email facility very useful. However, when sending a deferred email it is added to your 'Sent Items' folder immediately with no way of seeing when it will actually be sent (and no way of monitoring when it is actually sent).

What would be extremely useful is a server created folder for wach user called 'Deferred items' (or similar) which contains email that are deferred together with the date and time it will actually be sent. When the server sends the email it is removed from Deferred Items and put in Sent Items.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your ideas with us.  The basic ticketing system that was implemented in MDaemon is using public folders.  It was never intended to be a full fledged ticketing system and has no concept of assign a ticket or an email.  You can simply forward the message to the person you want to "assign" it to, or leave it in the public folder for that person to address.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "Integration of email addresses shared in webmail."  Can you provide further details?

    Thanks,

    Arron

  3. Default alias for a domain

    Default alias for a domain:
There must an option when creating new user in a domain a default define alias must automatically be assigned to a user.

to improve the message search in world client there must be an message indexing service available.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your ideas with us to improve MDaemon.

Can you share more information about the default alias functionality that you would like added?  An example would be very helpful.

MDaemon already includes an indexing service.

    Thank you,

  4. Subaddressing should work when getting mail using multipop.

When mail is received thru MultiPOP subaddressing does not work, it goes just to the Inbox. It should work the same way like when mail is received thru SMTP.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us to implement subaddressing for mail collected via MultiPOP.  In order for subaddressing to work via MultiPOP, the provider of your email account would need to allow messages to be delivered to a sub-addressed address.  For example, if the account you are collecting mail from is "user@domain.com" it would need to except a message to user+folder@domain.com in order for subaddressing to work. Most providers do not allow this.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?  Are you just wanting to route messages collected from MultiPOP to be routed to a specific folder?

    Thanks,

    Arron

  5. Automatic Whitelist in Backscatter with Domain Sharing

    Hi,

I want to suggest if ever the domain sharing is active, the email from other mail server with the same domain should be treated as local email and automatically whitelisted or exempted from "Backscatter Protection Verification" since the IP Address was already added on domain sharing.

The problem arise when the mailing list email from the other server was rejected by the receiving server due to "550 5.1.1 Backscatter Protection detected an invalid or expired email address"

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us to automatically exempt IPs from backscatter protection when they are set up for domain sharing. The best approach, in this case, is to add a notification address to the mailing list so that messages are not sent with a NULL Mail From. This can also improve the deliverability of messages on the internet and sets an address that can be notified when there are delivery issues.

With all that being said, we will look into your request for future versions.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  6. IP Abuse List .txt file via http

It would be very nice if MDaemon would add a IP Address to a IPFirewall.txt file that could be stored in a custom location for download via the http server.

The goal would be to allow a firewall to download a file containing the list of IP Addresses that are being logged via MDaemon security for either to many authentication attempts, etc.

This list would be very helpful with providing a means for Firewall Integration.

This technology already exists in firewalls, they just need IP Lists .txt so they can be used for filtering.

The end goal, to provide a…

    Hello,

Thanks for sharing your idea with us to store blocked IP addresses in a text file. While there is no feature in MDaemon to store blocked IP addresses in a text file, this is already being done. The files are probably not in the format that you’d need so you would have to write a script to gather the data and put it in the format you desire.
MDaemon stores the IP addresses configured in IP Screening in the MDaemon\app\IPScreen.dat file. MDaemon stores the Dynamic Screening Black list in the MDaemon\Data\DSBlackList.dat file. Both of these files are plain text files that can be opened with notepad.

As for making the file available via HTTP, you can simply place the file in the MDaemon\WorldClient\HTML directory. Although, I do not recommend it as anybody can download the file.

    Thanks,
    Arron

    Hello,

Thank you for your suggestion to allow messages to be sort by read status and by date. Newer themes, such as the WorldClient theme allow you to show only unread messages and then sort them by date.

We will look into allow message listings to be sorted by multiple criteria for a future version.

    Hello,

MDaemon uses the Operating System to handle SSL and TLS functionality. As long as the operating system supports ECC certificates, MDaemon will use them.

For MD PGP, we are currently only able to generate key pairs using RSA, we will look into adding support for ECC key pairs for a future version.

    Thanks,

  10. Support for Voting Buttons in Outlook

We have a project that would benefit from the addition of Voting Buttons (Outlook New Message > Options ribbon > Tracking > Use Voting Buttons). This would allow the sender to have a summary of the responses to a question posed in the email in a similar way to the responses from Meeting Requests.
We have tested this feature with Outlook 2013 / MC 7.0.4 / MDaemon 21.0.2 but the recipients do not get presented with any voting buttons at the top of their emails.

  11. more details about whitelist / blacklist entry

when i go to whitelist / blacklist, there are entries with comment "Added from message log", it would be better if you add date when it was added so we would know if entry has been created recently or long time ago. I usually add date in comment so when someone asked me when it was blacklisted or whitelisted, i dont need to rely on my memory or email request when it was done.

maybe add "who" created it if entry is created for domain or global admin level.

  12. Move messages from admin quarantine to user quarantine

Ability to move messages from admin quarantine to user quarantine.

Some messages that appear in admin quarantine don't always require admin action. But it is not always clear whether the user would wish to receive the message. Ideally have the ability for an admin to move a message to user quarantine - to allow the user to make the decision on whether to release / delete / whitelist etc.

  14. Show summary reason of Junk in Statistics Report

Statistics Report shows an amount of Junk messages processed. For Security awareness it would be great to have an additional table/report which shows a summary of reasons (top 10?).
If a message is marked as Good, i presume the Result is Delivered and the Reason is Good.

In my case I have a lot of connection attempts in which the next reasons/results are the most common.
    Incomplete - No Mail Sent
    Rejected - Location Screening
    Rejected - Dynamic Screening
    Rejected - HELO Lookup
    Rejected - Blacklisted
    Released - Callback Verification
    Rejected - DNSBL

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us, to have a breakdown of the Junk email report. Is the Junk breakdown report what you are looking for?

Junk Email Breakdown—This report displays the total of all junk email, categorized by type, for the selected Domain during the Date Range specified in the report. Junk email is categorized into six types: Spam, Virus, Spoofing, Abuse, Incomplete, and User. The Incomplete category is for all sessions where a timeout occurs or the client closes the socket or issues a quit command before sending the data. SMTP probes fall under this category. The User category is for Blacklists, Content Filter Rules, Attachment Filtering, and custom Sieve Scripts. The remaining categories refer to their corresponding Security sections. The table below the graph contains columns for each type, and each row corresponds to the Summary time period by which the report is delineated (hours,…

  15. Support to filter out "Tracking Pixel" in webmail and/or possible regular mail.

The use of "tracking pixel" is a bad for end user security and i suggest to add functionality to webmail but possible also regular mail to filter out tracking pixels.

    https://en.ryte.com/wiki/Tracking_Pixel

Especially in EU where GDPR is in effect that users must be informed that a website collects data. Users also have to be able to object to the tracking.

    Hello Dan,

Thanks for sharing your idea. Webmail currently has an option to block HTML images which stops all images from being downloaded, thereby preventing any tracking that would have occurred. When this is enabled, users can choose to download images by clicking a bar in webmail.

To enable the option open MDaemon and go to Setup / Web & IM Services / Settings, check the box for Block HTML images.

Webmail also ignores the SRC attribute on Image tags, and ignores script and link tags in html emails, this functionality all helps to make tracking more difficult, but it is not 100%.

Webmail also ignore script and link tags in HTML emails

Are you wanting webmail to also be able to identify image tags that are for tracking and filter them out?

If you are, I’m not aware of a good way to do this. We can scan the…

  17. Improve the number of characters in the user identification field

I would appreciate if you could improve the amount of characters associated with the user identification. In South America, two names and two surnames are used and it is not enough to enter the complete identification of the user. I would greatly appreciate if you could eliminate this limitation.

    Hello,

Thank you for your suggestion to increase the number of characters allowed in the mailbox field. This is on our list to consider for future versions.

In the current version, you can work around this issue by using aliases. Simple create a unique mailbox name and then create an alias so that the user identification value want to use points to the mailbox just created.

If you’d like further assistance setting this up, please contact our support team directly. All of our support options can be found at https://www.altn.com/support/.

  18. Enhance quarantine portal

Currently the quarantine portal displays the "friendly name", and if you choose to whitelist or blacklist it is the friendly name that is used. Sometimes with malicious or spam e-mails; it is the from that needs to be blacklisted (or possibly the sending IP address). But there is currently no easy way to blacklist (or whitelist) either of these two fields from the portal. You need to goto the transcript copy the relevant values and then goto the security tab of the portal to blacklist the relevant value.

Ideally if this could be done from the quarantine section directly (or…

  19. Classify (incoming) mails to info@... by AI/ML, so they can be directly forwarded to the right person/team.

Every company has a main emailaddress (often "info@companyname.com"). Every day hundreds of mails are flooding into that mailbox and somebody has to read and forward them.
It would be great to have a learning system which can be trained to classify mails, e.g. "mail is meant for sales", "mail is meant for accounting", etc.

That would save a lot of time!
With AI/ML this might be easy to do these days.

    Hello Klaus,

Thank you for sharing your idea to implement automatic email routing based on the content of the message. You can likely achieve some of this already using the content filter or IMAP rules to look for specific content in the body or subject of messages and forward the message based on that content. Your idea to use AI to route the messages will be considered for future versions.

    Thanks,

    Arron

  20. Content filter that checks recipients address book

Add a content filter setting that specifies that allows you to state that if sender is in the recipient's private address book, do xyz. Mdaemon's Spam filter seems to have a rule where spam rules are not processed if sender is in recipient's private address book.

Could the same be done for content filter rules to ensure that content filtering marketing junk emails is not applied to senders in recipient's address book.
