  1. Add ability to force SSL/TLS connections for all authenticated users

Currently the only option available is to force MSA clients to use SSL/TLS, but should be an option for all authenticating clients. TLS uses the standard ports, so they cannot currently be forced to use encryption. Any authenticated POP, IMAP and SMTP should be subject to this.

    Hello Brian,

Thanks for sharing your ideas to force SSL/TLS for all clients. We will look into adding options for force TLS/SSL for IMAP and POP clients in a future version. One option to force POP and IMAP users to use SSL is to only allow the SSL ports for these protocols through the firewall. Another option is to turn off support for plain text passwords. This will force the users to choose a secure means of transmitting the password which are either the use of Cram-MD5 or an SSL/TLS connection. Forcing the use of SSL/TLS on port 25 may result in other servers not being able to send you email, but it is possible to do using the STARTTLS Required List.

    Thanks,

    Arron

  2. attachment (sample) testing in a sandbox

lots of malware comes to us via email . it looks like bills and other things. in some and more and more cases a normal antivirus system is not able to catch them. so it is good idea to start these attachments in a sandbox to see what happened.

  4. Create server based rules

It would be very helpfull to creat server based rueles (mailfilter) using OC. If user are out of office the Inbox could get smaller. Active Synch wouldn´t sync all spam or newsletter.

    Hello Daniel,

Thanks for sharing your idea with us to allow server based rules to be created from Outlook Connector. MDaemon does currently support server side email rules that users can create/modify/delete from within MDaemon Remote Administration or WorldClient. Unfortunately, at this time the rules cannot be created/modified/deleted from Outlook Connector.

It will be considered for future versions.

    Thanks again,
    Arron

  5. Centralized management of email templates

    Hello @ all,

i think it will be a nice feature if E-Mail templates can be designed by Adrministrator in Backand for all users.

So we have always the same text for E-Mails and it was a great help for our workers if the have all the same template / the same content for this E-Mails.

    Thanks, best regards Thomas

  7. Include Origin IP Address in Spam Trap and Bayesian Folder listings

It would / may be helpful to include the origin IP Address as a separate column when viewing spam and suspect spam in the Queues \ Spam Trap and Queues \ Bayesian contents. This would allow the email administrator to sort by IP Address as a "fingerprint" when investigating incidents.

  8. Add to Dynamic screen refused hosts

We have a lot of hosts on Security Settings > Screen Host.

For example we have *.dotmailer.com, *.pur?.net, *.getrespooonse.com, *.createsend.com and more. Basically all this big companies that pretend to send solicited bulk mail but all they do is send unsolicited bulk mail. Thanks to this entries we have reduces our incoming mail by 90%.

The problem is this companies have loads of hosts and they try and try and try to send emails even when you reply with a 550 after the HELO several times.

Since added all those hosts to Screen Host our number of SMTP sessions (in)…

    Hello David,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us. It will be considered for future versions.

One thing I would like to clarify though. Adding the IP addresses of connections that are blocked by host screening to the IP screening list won’t actually stop the incoming SMTP session. It will allow MDaemon to reject the connection more quickly, but all the resources needed to establish the connection are still used. Your suggestion would save MDaemon from having to do the PTR lookup on the IP address, if its enabled, and would cause connections to be logged in the screening log instead of in the inbound SMTP log.

    Thanks again for your suggestion,

    Arron

  9. Ability to change the date format returned by $AR_START$ and $AR_END$

Would be helpful to be able to control the format of the date returned by these macros.

After creating a filter have a Run Filter function (at least for the Inbox) to filter messages that pre-date the filter creation date.

Auto Black Listing feature of the sender IP and auto reporting to SPAM COP.

The problem with this is it is a manual process and not Automated and it should be. One big problem with MDaemon is your Black list feature only places the Domain address into the Black list. You are not providing a method of auto IP blocking.

Also if the server is used for Gateway SPAM filtering which is what we do for customers there is not a quick way to show all email and then display the messages as shown below. In order to see the…

  12. Whitelists for individual features.

In addition to the global whitelist in SG, I would like to have individual whitelists for each feature. I may need to allow one person to bypass the antivirus or content filter or prevent them from being tarpitted. Currently I have now way of allowing this without bypassing everything by putting them in the whitelist.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us. Currently you can prevent a user from moving a public folder by removing their delete permissions. Improving upon this so that users can have access to delete messages but not access to move folders will be considered for future versions.

    Thanks,

    Arron

  14. Backup during upgrade

During an upgrade, like to 14.0.1, the auto backup that runs during the install only backs up the App and Spamassassin folders.
However, depending on what is upgraded during the install of the new software, you may need other folders to roll back to the previous version, if an issue is found, such as Worldclient and Webadmin. Otherwise you need to either manually back these up prior to install or get them back from an alternative backup source.
Would it be possible to add this functionality to the system to ensure the ability to swiftly and cleanly roll back if…

  15. Outlook Plug-in or Method to Send to SpamLearn and NonSpamLearn

Need an Outlook Plug-in or some easy method for users to send spam that has reached their inbox to send messages to the provided SpamLearn@ address. Likewise there needs to be an easy method to use the NonSpamLearn@. As another user posted, there is no option to flag these on the quaratine views. What is particularly disturbing is that there is no documented procedure for users to flag delivered messages as spam that I can see.

  17. Exclude accounts from the option to disable accounts after X days of inactivity

I have noticed one more issue which arises after enabling this option to disable accounts after 30 days.
After enabling this option i noticed that the email ids created for notification purpose are also blocked. For instance: i have a Email ID created for firewall alerts and since no one logs in to this Email ID this Email ID is frequently getting disabled by this feature.
I would also recommend to have a exclusion list for Email ID created only for notifications.

  20. Customize Ticketing number

Hello. I think that ticketing feature in MDaemon will be better if is possible to customize the ticket number and add more than one counter for tickets (for example: one counter for commercial ticket, one for techincal... ).
